Peabody, Massachusetts. TÜV SÜD America Inc. announces that the California Air Resource Board (ARB) has approved the company as a Verification Body under California's Assembly Bill 32: Global Warming Solutions Act. The scope of the accreditation covers refineries and power entities.
The Assembly Bill 32 (AB 32) established the first comprehensive program of regulatory and market mechanisms to achieve quantifiable and cost-effective reductions of greenhouse gases (GHG). AB 32 also makes the ARB responsible for monitoring and reducing GHG emissions statewide.
TÜV SÜD America is one of 34 Verification Bodies approved by the ARB. Under this program, the company's Carbon Management group, a division of Industry Service, provides third-party verification services under California regulatory requirements.
