Electrical
Safety
In developing and distributing your products, whether in one market or
around the world, electrical safety is an integral part of your products
durability and quality. If your products are electrical in nature, chances
are you will need to demonstrate that they meet country specific safety
requirements.
Partnering
with TÜV insures that your products are safe, meet all regulatory
requirements, and proudly display the certification marks that demonstrate
quality and safety built-in.
TÜV
Product Service is an NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory),
an SCC accredited Certification Body and a Notified Body for the European
Union Low Voltage Directive, providing
state-of-the-art testing facilities and a network of professionals worldwide
whose ultimate goal is to assure your products' success. Our staff also
works closely with design engineers to ensure that safety, quality, and
compliance is built into your products, allowing them to meet the regulatory

European
Services: Low Voltage Directive
TÜV Product Service
is a Notified Body for the European Union Low Voltage Directive. The
Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC (LVD) was adopted by the European
Council on February 19, 1973 with the purpose of harmonizing the laws
of Member States relating to electrical equipment designed for use within
certain voltage limits. In 1993, the LVD was amended by Directive 93/68/EEC
to include the procedures for conformity assessment and CE Marking products.
CE Marking of products that fall under the scope of the Low Voltage Directive
is mandatory, and indicates compliance with the requirements of the European
Union (EU).
Electrical equipment covered by the Low Voltage Directive:
With the exception of the equipment listed in Annex II, the directive
applies to electrical equipment designed for use at a rated voltage of
50 to 1000 V for alternating current and 75 to 1500 V for direct current.
Rated voltage refers to the input or output voltage of the equipment and
not voltages which are generated internally.

Differentiate
with the"CUE" TUV-Mark
To
provide clients further market differentiation, TÜV offers the CUE
certification program. CUE is the name for our 3-in-1 product certification
service package for the Canadian, United States and European
markets. When conducting electrical safety testing with TÜV, we will
simultaneously determine compliance of your products to Canadian (CSA/SCC),
the United States (UL/ANSI) and European (EN/IEC) safety standards, thus
providing a unique 3-in-1 service offering.
The CUE TUV-Mark can then be applied to your product demonstrating compliance
to these three important markets.
